چکیده
Abstract Objectives Osteitis and tissue remodeling are inflammatory processes associated with the severity of chronic rhinosinusitis nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Nasal steroids mainly recommended therapeutics in treatment disease, besides their beneficial effects, they may worsen osteitis via osteopenia. This study aimed to search for coalescence CRSwNP steroid use (NSU). Methods A cross-sectional was designed. Patients who underwent paranasal sinus computed tomography (PNSCT) imaging were queried, sino‐nasal outcome test-22 (SNOT-22) completed. Regular NSU defined as a continued 2 months last 6 months. The cumulative period during determined classified no or, 1 3 months, or more than Lund-MacKay scores (LMS) Global Scores (GOS) calculated 10 sinuses PNSCT. Results Sixty-two patients included study. mean GOS score 5.7 ± 1.7 points higher regular ( p = 0.002, 95% CI : 9.2–2.2, t -test). LMS SNOT-22 also significantly 0.036 < 0.001 consecutively). showed significant increase according 0.001, one-way ANOVA test). Similarly, duration total NSU. positive high correlation r 0.608 0.753 Conclusions association found between is probably due disease. However, it question value effect development osteitis. presence should be investigated future histopathological studies. Level evidence IV

Symptoms in chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps.
OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS In this study we analyzed differences in symptoms scored between chronic rhinosinusitis patients with (CRSwNP) and without nasal polyps (CRSsNP). According to the European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps, CRSwNP and CRSsNP diagnoses are defined by clinical criteria supported with endoscopy. We wanted to know if it is possible to make an accurate distincti...

Background According to EPOS, chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps diagnoses are defined by clinical criteria, supported with endoscopy. We want to know if it is possible to make an accurate distinction between patients with and without nasal polyps based on a limited number of clinical criteria, collected by health-related quality of life questionnaires. A validated instrument ...

BACKGROUND The recently reported prevalence of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) among people >60 years old was 4.7%, with CRS emerging as the sixth most common chronic condition in the elderly. There is still a dearth of studies that focused on older patients, however, regarding the characteristics of CRS with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). OBJECTIVE The emerging role of CRSwNP endotyping to enable a tai...
